Oscar Palos is a passionate sailor. Born in Barcelona, raised sailing since childhood in l’Empordà and the Balearic Islands, where the Tramuntana wind blows. He studied Marine Engineering in Spain and Naval Architecture in Australia.
Oscar worked as a Naval Architect in an Australian shipyard developing his first own yacht design and engineering moulds for production. Currently, 15 of his boats are on the water.
After working in Naval Architecture, Design and Engineering offices, he then focussed on Superyacht Project Management, dealing with the most challenging refits for 9 years – first as Project Manager, then as Senior Project Manager, and later as Director of the Dry Dock Department at MB92 Megayacht refit yard.
Then, Oscar rediscovered his sea legs and set sail around the world for 2 years, criss-crossing the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This time spent sailing on a number of yachts with various owners, captains & crews, has provided him with a unique practical application to technical & commercial skills that have been developed throughout his professional career. These skills are now applied to either new build or refit projects on varying scales.
After more than 15 years’ experience in the Yacht industry, Oscar founded Tramuntana Yacht Management to serve Yacht needs; requirements that have been absorbed through personal experience as a Naval Architect, Project Manager and Sailor.
