Independent Superyacht Refit Project Management
What We Do
We act as independent owner’s representatives, managing refit projects from early planning through to final delivery and sea trials.
We coordinate owners, captains, shipyards, class and contractors, ensuring the refit is delivered efficiently, on budget and to the required technical standard.

Technical Expertise
We are highly experienced with Classification Society requirements, including Lloyd’s Register, DNV, RINA and Bureau Veritas, and regularly coordinate surveys, inspections and class items within tight shipyard schedules.
Project preparation is key to refit success. Writing specifications, developing schedules, managing tenders and coordinating multiple disciplines are core strengths of Tramuntana Yacht Management.
Communication & Local Presence
Clear communication is essential during refits. Being based in Mallorca allows us to work closely with local shipyards and contractors, while operating internationally when required.
We communicate fluently in 5 languages: Spanish, Catalan, English, French and Portuguese, facilitating smooth coordination between yards, suppliers, crew and owners.

Oscar Palos
Naval Architect– Project Manager
Oscar Palos is a senior owner’s representative, technical manager and naval architect with over 20 years’ experience in the superyacht industry. Born in Barcelona and raised sailing in the Mediterranean, Oscar combines a strong academic background in marine engineering and naval architecture with extensive hands-on sailing experience.
He has held roles as Senior Project Manager and Director of Dry Dock at leading superyacht refit shipyards, managing some of the most complex refits in the industry. During this time, he also completed advanced postgraduate studies in project management.
Oscar is also an experienced sailor, with extensive offshore and ocean-crossing experience, bringing practical insight into yacht operation, reliability and owner expectations. This balance of technical and operational experience underpins the way Tramuntana Yacht Management approaches every project.
His career spans all sides of the refit industry. Having worked within a private shipyard, as a project manager for contractors, and ultimately as an independent project manager and owner’s representative, he has first-hand insight into the technical, commercial and operational priorities — and conflicts — that shape refit projects, giving him a rare 360-degree view of the process.
